I recently had the pleasure of coaching Mr M who’s in his early 50’s. We did a couple of days coaching in London. Let’s hear what he had to say.
I was looking to get a bit better at cold approaching during the day and whilst I would not say I am necessarily nervous in approaching, I seem to have a bit of a block in terms of worrying about going ‘blank’ during the interaction.
I had researched various day-gamers and came across Tom’s website. I bought a couple of his books, read a number of the reviews, but I think what struck me the most when reading through everything was that he seemed real and honest. He was not promising miracles, the percentages of approaches to numbers seemed realistic and his whole ethos seemed very much tailored towards just being yourself.
I contacted Tom and we had a call about what I would like to achieve and agreed to a spend a couple of days together in London.
In terms of the training, Tom helped me warm-up a bit just by asking some general direction or location questions of passers-by and then we moved onto approaching to see how it went. My main goal was really to get Tom to push me into approaches and Tom consistently did this as we walked around (as a separate point Tom made me walk about 20 miles over the 2 days, so it was good from exercise perspective as well, given I am possibly the laziest person on the planet…).
From my perspective, it helped me a lot having Tom there, almost like a big brother. A couple of times my mind still went blank in the interaction and it was good having Tom waiting ‘in the wings’ to move-on from the interaction.
What I would say to anyone thinking of working with Tom is that he is the real deal. I watched him approach 7 times and obtain 6 numbers without even seeming to try. When you watch him, you can see he really controls the interactions and they really respond to him. It helps me watching someone at the top of their game and executing in practice what they teach and demonstrating that it clearly works.
I must stress that it is important for anyone looking to get into day-game that you will need to put in the work and there is no way around this. Tom can certainly show you the way, but you need to actually get out there, put it into practice and then practice it a lot. When you watch Tom in sets, you can see this is a guy who has done the hard work and you can see what is possible.
