I’m bashing out this short post between coaching trips for three reasons: one, I committed to releasing a post each month this year; two, one of my Patrons asked me to flesh out this idea in a post; and three, it lets me promote my Patreon. At the moment, that’s the side of my business which I want to grow the most. I’m putting new content up there every weekday covering everything from Daygame to intersexual dynamics. I’ll be releasing five of those pieces of content to Spotify next week as a taster to encourage more followers. I digress…
I like to use analogies while coaching as it helps the student to understand their situation better. One category of analogy I often use is football. Of course, this falls somewhat flat on American ears, but they’ve got bigger problems…
This particular analogy relates to how beginner, intermediate and advanced Daygamers operate, by likening them to styles of football.
Beginner Daygamers are like defensive football teams. Usually teams with worse players play defensive football. Their main aim is to stop the opponent from scoring. They are playing not to lose, rather than to win. When they do win, it’s because of a moment of strong luck such as a dodgy penalty in the closing moments or a hefty deflection. Or they win through set pieces and relying on brute force: height and weight rather than skill, tactics or athletic prowess. Beginner Daygamers are similarly defensive. They summon the courage, go into set and hope that nothing bad happens to them. They don’t try to move the seduction forward and are simply waiting for a stroke of luck. Perhaps where the girl simply likes them for them. This is a mandatory stage for most Daygamers. Those without much experience with women. They wait to get lucky and can then leverage that memory to build actual confidence.
Intermediate Daygamers are like counter-attacking football teams. They are similarly defensive, but they have a plan to win the game: they will wait for the opposing side to commit attackers and then suddenly spring forward with enough potency to score. They will most likely have certain plays worked out to exploit their opponent’s gaps at the back; certain automations. Perhaps an algorithm of “if X then Y.” Counter-attacking teams can, and do, punch above their weight, when they play smartly. Similarly, for a guy to reach the intermediate stage of Daygame, he has already made a great achievement, and will have seen a great improvement in his dating life, though, he will have a feeling that something is missing: he is still relying on the girl to “make a mistake.” He is still waiting for her to show that she likes him before he commits himself any further. He won’t pull before she shows him some signs that she will accept his pull.
This is where a lot of frustration comes in for the intermediate. He thinks that he has done enough work that his results should be a lot higher, yet, he often finds himself wandering around simply waiting for a girl to like him. Ultimately, his dating life has improved, but he doesn’t feel as if he has much more control over it. In business terms – and sorry for mixing metaphors here – he hasn’t actually improved his product, or his marketing, only his market reach.
Advanced Daygamers are at the pinnacle and they exhibit attacking football. Rather than waiting for the opposing team to leave a gap, these teams actively take the game to them. They pass the ball around and make runs to pull the opposing side out of their defensive shape. They then have the awareness, athleticism and skill to expose those holes that they created. An advanced Daygamer does something similar: they use their tone to set an emotional theme to their opener; they change the communications style to suit each girl; they speak and move in a way to put her physically and intellectually off-balance; they know the moments to break the rules and pull. He stands out so much from the other guys that approach her to the extent that a beginner will cause a 5/10 impact, an intermediate will cause a 6/10 impact and an advanced guy will create an 8, 9 or 10/10 impact.
There are many ways in which an advanced guy is better and different from an intermediate but one of the strongest cases lies in their selective use of vulnerability while not losing value. To actually tell the girl exactly why they like her. To drop all pretense of Game and be upfront with a girl. This is, in effect, being vulnerable and is just like the attacking football team committing players forward in the knowledge that they will score.
If the other team tries to counter-attack then they believe in the quality of their defenders and goalkeeper to stop something from happening, even if they are outnumbered. Those defenders and goalkeeper are just as important to the attacking team as the attacking players. The former, in this analogy, represents your ability to speak from a position of strength. For want of better terms, when a beta is vulnerable he’s supplicating and needy; when an alpha is vulnerable (in those select moments) he’s showing a warm and caring side to an otherwise steely core.
Being able to do the above means you are actually communicating with charisma and having an effect on the other person. Truthfully, only a few people can ever truly reach this level. Everyone has the ability to improve their charisma, but only some have the potential to be fully charismatic. Most potentials only go so far as performing the “Daygame Dance.” Signalling to the girl that they are hitting on her but not actually doing anything to increase her interest in him.
You owe it to yourself to find out which of the two you can be.
Yours unfaithfully,
Thomas Crown
