I Got My Testosterone Levels Checked

Testosterone is the lifeblood of every man and I think that you should all take a look at yours.

By the end of January, I was about a month into a cut which will take me down to 12% bodyfat (you can learn how I’ve been doing that on my Patreon). Naturally, my energy levels fell and I was feeling way less lust for life and I just so happened to be walking through a store which sold supplements. I’m always interested to see what they have on offer and my eyes rested on a pot of Tribulus Terrestris (TT) which was marketed as a test booster. At only £9.99 I thought “what the heck, I’ll give it a go,” and bought it. It was only once I was outside and started doing a bit of research on TT that I found out it doesn’t boost testosterone, only certain functions in the body that make you feel as if your testosterone is higher. Nonetheless, I felt a significant improvement in mood from taking it, both in my drive and my contentment with life.

This got me started on researching actual natural test boosters/efficiency boosters/stress reducers and over the course of the last two months I’ve been slowly adding to stack which I take on weekdays and will do a complete deload from at the end of a 12 week cycle:

  • Fadogia Agrestis
  • Tonkat Ali
  • Boron
  • Ashwaganda
  • Shilajit

As with the TT, I felt each one, even if just slightly. In truth, I think I am a hyper-responder to supplements, whether that’s because I’m sensitive to them and/or because I’m highly dopaminergic and so could/can experience very strong placebo effects. I’ve also supplemented with zinc and magnesium, vitamin D, omega 3’s and a multivitamin daily for years and I feel them too. I wanted to know, though, that all those supplements were having an effect and so I ordered a home testosterone blood test from Manual. The results were conclusive.

I last had my test levels checked (just total, unfortunately) in 2021 and 2022 and both times the result came back exactly the same: 20.7 nmol/l. That was my baseline. This test came back with 22.4 nmol/l, an increase of just over 8%. I would consider that a success. Not just because of the increase, but because I’ve been dieting hard this year and so would expect the result to come in higher when I get my next check. Altogether I don’t think I’ve unlocked the full benefits of these supplements yet.

The test also showed:

  • My albumin was at a healthy level (46.7 g/l)
  • My SHBG was high (70.8 nmol/l) which is understandable as it is meant to rise when you diet due to higher stress (cortisol). To try and counter that I’ve upped my Boron dose to 15 mg per day from 10 mg and I’ve ordered some magnesium bisglycinate to take before bedtime; both of which will hopefully reduce my SHBG
  • My free test – the bit you really want for the anabolic and androgenising effects – was low (0.277 nmol/l) which is due to SHBG being high

My plan is to get my test levels checked again once I’ve finished my diet and been eating at maintenance calories for 3-4 weeks and then again, later this year, roughly 3-4 months after the diet has ended. I’ll be posting the results.

Today wasn’t Daygame related, but remember that she finds You attractive as a whole. Your testosterone is a big part of that. If you want to be a better You, click the links below.
