Belgrade Coaching Review by Mr N

I recently coached Mr N in Belgrade. I’d known Mr N for a while, we’d done a couple of coaching calls way back in the past, and it happened that we would be passing through the same city so some infield coaching made sense. Let’s hear what Mr N had to say about the experience.

*****

I had the opportunity to have a coaching with Tom. My game had a huge downswing from which I was just recovering before that and I had no clue what I was doing wrong. At the beginning of the coaching, Tom ran me through some of the fundamentals of how to prepare pre-approach and how to go through the start of the approach. That alone was very useful to me. I realized that right of the bat in the approach I wasn’t setting the mood right. Later I did a few approaches and Tom followed them closely. I got more feedback about several of the deficiencies that I was doing wrong.

I did coaching in two batches. After the first one, I felt my sets were improved and I can get the interactions I want, but I also felt I still lacked the consistency. So in the second batch I got more feedback. This feedback got deeper and while at the beginning Tom was focusing on major flaws, he now gave me suggestions to improve more minor things – indicating that fixing several minor things gradually leads to better success too.

Overall the coaching was a great experience for me and pushed my game further. I have to keep working on it after the coaching, which I plan to. It is a good feedback that improves the game and gives me valuable feedback on what I should work on in the future.
