My Advice to Anyone Starting Daygame This Year

In a world of social media, dating apps and a smörgåsbord of gurus telling us that the Game has changed, we all need to stay centred. If we believed all of our neurotic thoughts then we’d never leave the house. A lot of guys run that exact risk and that’s why today I want to give you your guiding principle if you’re just starting out this year. Ask yourself:

Am I doing my best?

It’s such a quaint saying and I definitely am not recommending any kind of “just get out there and do your best because it’s the taking part that counts.” Winning definitely counts and is our aim. But when you look back at the past week, did you go out and do your sessions? Did you text those girls or were you “just so busy?” When you went on your dates, did you follow your plan?

The topic of doing one’s best came up recently when my fiance and I were watching a PewDiePie video and his son was wearing a t-shirt which read “Let’s Do Our Best.” I turned to her and said “that’s a bit lame isn’t it? Or is it some Japanese thing?”. She explained that it indeed was a Japanese thing and that they see it as a point of personal pride and that aiming to do one’s best has a value beyond the physical reward. Something spiritual even.

This should be your guiding principle because those neurotic thoughts are so easy to fall prey to and there are a myriad of temptations out there to stop you from pushing against the line of most resistance. I’ve fallen afoul of this myself and I want to do better with this blog. This year I want to beat my all-time visitor count which I set in 2022 when I was doing my best with this website. That’s all I’m going to say about that aim because I think that there’s an inverse correlation between how much you talk about the things you’re going to do and how much you actually do. In a world of hype – all sizzle and no steak – be a steak.
