Back in the Saddle Again

In today’s post I’ll make a few short observations from starting Daygame again. It’s early days so take this with a pinch of salt.

I was meant to start on the 1st March but saw the upturn in weather at the end of February and thought why not start early? We’ve just left a horrible cold snap behind and now it’s nice and crisp and a little warmer. I figured that if there was a good time to start again it would be now.

I’ve taken a “little and often” tact: I know I need to get my steps in each day so thought I might as well take them on the Daygame route.

I think there’s a general misconception that you need to take “massive action to get massive results.” I don’t think so. I think what’s better are small, consistent and sustainable improvements which add up like compounded returns.

I don’t expect much to come of these little walks but I figured why not do my steps with a purpose? So as long as it’s not raining or too cold (or both!) I’ll do a little session. It gives me more opportunity to get lucky as well. Luck is that special ingredient needed for every seduction.

I fill the time by listening to music and podcasts and if I see a set, I’ll do it, but I’m not concerned if I don’t, though I have done an approach in each session so far.

Normally I’ll get my home workout done at lunchtime and then head off into central for a short evening walk. Door to door it’s no more than two hours and I get my 10,000 steps in.

So far that’s led to three sessions, four approaches and four numbers. Tidy.

The sets have been decent, but there aren’t enough to draw patterns yet. Luckily I’ve not had any girl step back due to virus fears.

Plus there’s a question of what to actually do on a date? Not my usual two-drinks-two-venues-and-bounce-full-steam-ahead approach that’s for sure. Time to get creative.

One thing I have noticed is that the “good” areas seem to be different. Oxford Street and Covent Garden are ghost towns. Southbank is the place to go right now. I imagine that anywhere girls are more likely to go for a simple walk will be better.

Things should pick back up once the shops reopen. Once the pubs and bars do too then we can really get back into the swing of things. Until then I’ll just be taking my little walks and seeing if I can get lucky.

Yours unfaithfully,

Thomas Crown

  1. I daygamed during the lockdowns with a mask on down here in Melbourne.

I found interested girls just pull the mask down, smile and engage in a conversation with you (interest).
